Run Workout for Tuesday August 31st 2010

Did five miles after doing eight on Sunday and taking Monday off.  Had some pain in the knees. The pain was there but not impossible to run with. Going to complete six miles tomorrow. Ran north on the Monon Trail from 96th street. Proud to say that I ran a couple half mile segments.

Run Workout for Sunday August 29th 2010

Hit the Monon Trail last night. Ran from 96th Street to Broad Ripple(62nd Street) in a little over two hours. Had some knee pain towards the beginning of the run - for some reason it cleared up about a quarter of the way in. I am proud to say that I ran most of the way and I only became totally beat in the last mile.  It was a good workout overall.

Taking today off to recover. Plans are to follow the training program and complete four mile on Tuesday and Thursday and shoot for eight on Wednesday.

Girl Scouts for my Kid

MaM has joined girl scouts.  My daughter's first group activity, other than kickball two weeks ago.  This should be good as long as we don't have to host a sleepover for a bunch of five and six year old girls.  I don't think that my nerves can take that without alcohol.

Went out early this morning. It was a lot cooler than the past couple days. I even ran through a fog cloud. It was amazingly awesome. Like being healthy with cataracts. I ran most of this route. I ran on feeling, not by time. Just ran when I felt like it. Had some great long runs.
Felt good after the run. Legs and knees hurt a bit during the day. Going to try to head out tomorrow afternoon with the boy.

Run Workout for Monday August 23rd 2010

The boy and I on the Monon Trail.

The boy and I hit the Monon Trail this evening after dinner. We walked from 86th street to Broad Ripple and back. The weather was perfect and the trail, not to packed. I pushed the boy in the running stroller. The chicks are still digging him. Probably because he waves and smiles at each and ever one of them. I really do enjoy spending time on the trail with my children.

Walked all the way down to Broad Ripple and most of the way back. Towards the end I started interval running. Not to fast. The fourth and fifth mile were sub 15:30 with the running. I hope this marathon does not kill me.
The boy enjoying the ride.

I had to dress up as a bunny.

Went to the Hare Chevy Blog Indiana kick off. Met up with a lot of great peeps and got some great pictures in the bunny suit. We ate West Coast Tacos for the first time. It was a good night out.

Why Can't We All Just Get Along

I don't understand why people attack each other in social media. On twitter, I have seen people lash out at others because of how a post was formatted or because of an experience at a business. If you have an online relationship with someone/business, and you have an issue, send a direct message rather than flaming them in the public arena. You can even take this a step further, if you don't have anything nice to say - don't say anything at all.

In response to the people who post negative posts, for the most part I say to ignore them. Move on and focus on the positive posts. Online, as well as in the off line community, there are people who have nothing positive to say about anything. They are not happy unless they are telling other how bad they are. One of the hardest lessons I have learned is to ignore the knuckle-heads and surround myself with positive people.

When you feel like posting a negative post. Do as the commercial suggests, "Give it a ponder". If you can set the post in a preview state, do so until you can take some time away from it.
